Beat Your Own Drum
No matter what kind of creative or artistic talent you are lucky enough to possess you will, at some stage, need to market in order to gain exposure or make a living. Unless you win the lottery or have a rich relative that is willing to support you for the rest of your life so that you can practice your talent at home to entertain your cat, if this is you please disregard what I just said about needing to make a living.
Marketing and advertising can be very expensive and may not always yield the results that you are looking for. You do have the option of finding an agent to source work for you, first you will have to find an agent that is willing to back you, you may be required to sign a contract of some kind ( depending on the agency) and of course the agent needs to get paid. This won't affect your decision if you are in the above mentioned lotto winning category, however if you are an artist struggling to make ends meet in between gigs then finances are definitely a consideration.
When choosing someone to take charge of your marketing needs it's very important to choose someone who understands what you have to offer and portrays you in a way that is conductive to the type of exposure or employment you are seeking. Find someone who is passionate about what you do and is able to represent you with the kind of flair that reflects your talent effectively so that you can attract the kind of interest you really want.
Let's simplify this, you need someone who doesn't cost too much, someone who understands what you have to offer, someone who is passionate about what you do, someone with the right style and someone who will help you attract the kind of attention you want. Does that sound like anyone you know? YES! It sounds like you of course! You understand your needs better than anyone else does! You know what you have to offer, and you have exactly the right kind of flair and passion needed to represent you, because you are you!
OK so you don't think you know anything about marketing or advertising? Truth be told you probably know more than you think you do. Every time you talk to someone about what you do you are marketing. Have you ever heard that saying "Charity begins at home"? This is the same it begins with you, where you live. Talk about your talent as much as you can, make some business cards and give them out to as many people as possible.
Don't ever assume that people are not the type to be interested, you might not want to mention your heavy metal punk band to the nice old lady down the street, but she might have a grandson who runs a local bar or music event, or she might happen to mention you to a friend who does.
If you have a Facebook account share what you do, create a website, there are plenty of places online where you can create a website for free without having any knowledge about building websites at all. Also remember that Google is your friend! So have a look around and read some articles about marketing online, or see what kind of techniques other artists are using.
It's your drum! So it makes sense that you would beat it yourself!

Become A DJ And Lead The Party
Do you want to be a DJ? Do you want to be the leader at any party? Do you want to have fun doing what you love and get paid for doing it? Did you realize that the DJ of today is also a performing artist?
What is a DJ?
The disc jockey or DJ provides music entertainment through radio, mobile, and night club outlets. Equipment used in this occupation is the turn table, CD players, speakers, and headphones.
The job requirements will be spinning music and sometimes talking or introducing games.
Three important skills and talents:
- The ability to work with music
- Beat mixing knowledge
- How to emcee if speaking is to be included
It also helps to have a strong ego and intuition. These two qualities are essential for being the leader at a party. You need to know your audience, their music, and the beat which will make everybody at the party happy and delighted with your work.
Will you have fun?
A beat mixing DJ will have fun because there is nothing else that he or she would want to do. Youthful minds enjoy music, dancing, and clubbing. An entertainer of music flies high on the energy of self and others. Not everyone has the ability to be a performing artist. You can be proud of yourself if this is your career choice.
There is a paycheck
This is an area of great flexibility. Spinning music at private parties and clubs can range from $100 to $300 an hour. The agreement is determined by your experience, your reputation, and what parties and clubs can afford.
The only advice I would give is to work with the client. Sometimes the client cannot pay your scale; be flexible. A low pay is better than no compensation.
It is important that an entertainer is constantly practicing their art in front of a live audience. You never know who will be attending the gig. There may be a future client in attendance at the party who will hire you at your requested pay.
Be careful doing "free" work. Charity is great, but you do not want to get a reputation for providing free entertainment.
When you become an established popular DJ with high recommendations then demand your desired pay scale.
Talents of a performing artist:
- He or she is playing music live for the audience
- They create vibrant beats and hot techno sounds
- There is an intuitive ability, talent, and power to throw down powerful beats and bring a room to life
- They are responsible for the easy flow of one music piece to another
- Music knowledge for playing a song and mixing in other beats
- Public speaking
Beat software
- There is software to help make the job easier and you will be working the clubs and making people dance right from the moment you get started.
- You can create rap beats, hip-hop sounds, smooth R&B, Dizzying techno pop, punk, rock, jazz, grunge, dance tunes, urban, and house or indie tracks to amaze your friends and get you gigs at the top clubs.
- Make money doing what you love by creating beats for producers and get your money on liners and royalties to boot.

Top Club Songs Since 2000
Here are the top songs that I think impacted the club scene in a significant way.
2013
Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop
The verse and hook is very easy to follow making this song super catchy. That is good for any club hit. Miley Cyrus shows her other side and the club scene has been pretty receptive to her. As much as I like this song, it is sadly the #1 club hit so far this year. 2013 has probably some of the weakest club hits out of all the other years. I'm hoping it will change, but summer is almost over. This is probably as good as it gets.
Runner Up:
B.o.B - Headband
Chris Brown - Love More
Sean Kingston - Beat It
2012
Chris Brown - Turn Up The Music
This is one of Chris Brown's many club hits. This song is perfect for the club as it strikes the right balance between uptempo R&B and dance music. He didn't have much competition in 2012 so he wins almost by default. Usher was the next one up, but his selection wasn't as strong.
Runner Up:
Usher - Scream
Flo Rida - Whistle
Havana Brown - We Run The Night
2011
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
Party Rock Anthem was huge in 2011. It was a very fun and energizing song. It got people on the dance floor in no time. If I could describe the club hits for 2011 in one word it would be: WOW!!! There are so many to choose from its ridiculous. This year was probably one of the best years of club hits so far. LMFAO was the on top of that list. From January to December the club hits just kept coming and Party Rock Anthem was the first to kick it off.
Runner Up:
LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It
Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor
Big Sean - Dance (A$$)
Tyga - Rack City
2010
Far East Movement - Like A G6
So far this is Far East Movement's biggest hit. Like a G6 took the club by storm putting them and DEV on the map. People had to Google to find out what a G6 was. A pretty good year for other club hits as well.
Runner Up:
Flo Rida - Club Can't Handle Me
Jeremih - Down On Me
Usher - OMG
2009
The Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow
This was The Black Eyed Peas year. There futuristic beats were all over the clubs. With several hits on their album they could not be stopped.
Runner Up:
The Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
Jeremih - Birthday Sex (Upbeat Mix)
Pitbull - Hotel Room Service
2008
Lil Wayne - Lollipop
Even though Lil Wayne has been around for a long time, this club hit and several other songs made him popular. Lollipop was all over the clubs for its smooth beat and flow. Not a strong year for club hits, but there are a few that were good.
Runner Up:
Flo Rida - In The Ayer
Danity Kane - Damaged
Usher - Love In this Club
2007
Flo Rida - Low
If you can remember only one song from 2007 it's this one. This song launched Flo Rida's career and made him known for club music. Low is very popular even to this day. If you can remember two songs from 2007, then Crank That would be the other one. I remember everyone trying to do the dance and most people didn't even know what it meant. There were quite a few club hits this year. So people always had something to dance to.
Runner Up:
Soulja Boy Tell'em - Crank That (Soulja Boy)
Timbaland - The Way I Are
Jim Jones - We Fly High
2006
Justin Timberlake - SexyBack
This song relaunched both Justin Timberlake and Timbland's career. It definitely brought sexy back in a good way. 2006 in my eyes (or ears) was the best year for club hits. Nelly Furtado, The Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Young Dro, Ne-Yo, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Cassie, Nelly, Yung Joc and Sean Paul all had a great year. There were club hits for every type of club goer.
Runner Up:
Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous
The Black Eyed Peas - Pump It
Cassie - Me & U
Yung Joc - It's Goin' Down
Young Dro - Shoulder Lean
Dem Franchize Boyz - Lean wit it, Rock wit it
2005
50 Cent - Candy Shop
This was 50 Cent's year. Several of his songs were on top of the charts. G-Unit was gaining steam at this point. For better or worse, 2005 was also the battle of the infamous whisper songs. At least they had great club beats.
Runner Up:
50 Cent - Disco Inferno
50 Cent - Just A Lil Bit
David Banner - Play
Ying Yang Twins - Wait (The Whisper Song)
2004
Usher - Yeah
Every club/party was bumpin' this song in 2004. This is the club hit that has stood the test of time. Clubs still play this song in 2013. Usher had a huge hit on his hands when this came out. The runner up songs were also on everyone's club hits at the time.
Runner Up:
J-Kwon - Tipsy
Terror Squad - Lean Back
Petey Pablo - Freek-A-Leek
2003
50 Cent - In Da Club
This year was the launch of 50 Cent's career. In Da Club was a smash hit on the radio and in the clubs (pun intended). Lil Jon and Ying Yang Twins also had a successful year with their club hits.
Runner Up:
Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz - Get Low
Ying Yang Twins - Salt Shaker
Jay-Z - Dirt Off Your Shoulder
2002
Nelly - Hot in Herre
There wasn't much competition for club hits this year. Although Hot in Herre was pretty good and deserves to be on top. Nelly also had a fascination with the Band-Aid at the time. Not sure he realized that people only wore Band-Aids when they got hurt.
Runner Up:
Big Tymers - Still Fly
Missy Elliott - Work It
N.O.R.E. - Nothin'
2001
Mary J. Blige - Family Affair
Family Affair was a fun song. It made you want to get up and dance. No hateration. 2001 wasn't a strong year for club hits, but a few of them do stand out.
Runner Up:
Missy Elliott - Get Ur Freak On
R. Kelly - Fiesta
Jagged Edge - Where The Party At
2000
Nelly - Country Grammar
I remember hearing this for the first time and thinking to myself it wasn't a very good song. The song grew on me as I kept hearing it over and over again on the radio. After that Nelly became one of my favorite hip-hop artists at the time. The infamous Thong Song came out during the same year.
Runner Up:
Sisqo - Thong Song
DMX - Party Up (Up In Here)
Missy Elliott - Hot Boyz

Liszt - Hunnenschlacht (Battle Of The Huns)
In 1847 Liszt gave up his life as a traveling piano virtuoso and devoted himself to musical composition. He had been made honorary music director at the court of Wiemar in 1842, and after his retirement he moved there. He composed all but one of his symphonic poems in Wiemar from 1848-1858.
As music director, Liszt was also conductor of the court orchestra. He helped to expose the music of Berlioz, Wagner, and many other composers to a wider audience during his years in Wiemar. He also played many of his own orchestral works there. Liszt came to orchestral composition relatively late in his life and having an orchestra at his disposal aided him greatly in fine-tuning his compositions. He admitted that he needed to hear his works before he could finalize them.
His symphonic poems are based on the orchestral overture, which in turn was a development of the operatic overture. While operatic overtures were usually a panache of tunes from the opera about to be heard, the symphonic overture was similar to symphonic movements, and were written in sonata form. Liszt used a different form and was a pioneer of cyclic form where musical motifs are played, varied and repeated. These motifs don't always follow a pattern of repetition. They can enter and leave in no set fashion and can be varied in many ways throughout the composition. Some of the symphonic poems show the seams and sound episodic, some meld into a seamless 'poem', but it is well to remember that these compositions were experiments in sound and form. As such, they inspired many other composers such as Wagner, who used the idea to create his leitmotifs in his operas.
Some of the symphonic poems were inspired by works of art. Hunnenschlacht was inspired by a painting of the same title by Wilhelm von Kaulbach. The painting depicts the battle of the Catalaunian Fields in 451 AD where Attila The Hun led his army in an invasion of Gaul against a coalition of Roman and Visigoth generals and their soldiers. Contemporary descriptions of the battle contributed to the legend of the ferocity of the battle. The 6th century philosopher Damascius heard that the fighting was so severe "that no one survived except only the leaders on either side and a few followers: but the ghosts of those who fell continued the struggle for three whole days and nights as violently as if they had been alive; the clash of their arms was clearly audible" It was this description of the battle that is depicted in the painting by Kaulbach.
Liszt opens the piece with the beginning of the battle, with Liszt giving the directions: "the entire tone color should be kept very dark, and all instruments must sound like ghosts". To help achieve the effect he wanted, Liszt also directs the strings to play with mutes, even in the loud sections. The battle lasts for roughly the first half of the work. The second half is begun with the solo organ playing Crux Fidelis, (Faithful Cross) an ancient church chant. This represents the victory of the Christian forces and slowly leads to a triumphant ending, with the solo organ having the last word.
The quoting of the ancient church hymn and the added organ (the oldest keyboard instrument known and a fixture in the Catholic church) is used by Liszt to avow his life-long faith in the Catholic church. The triumphant ending can also be looked at in the broader sense as a representation of love conquering hate.
The complex personality and genius of Liszt make him a paradox. From womanizer (by reputation or fact) to taking minor orders in the Catholic church, from brazen virtuoso to thoughtful musician, from indulging in the writing of what would be the equivalent of banal 'pop' music today to composing some of the best pieces of music by any composer. There is no denying that his was a great musical mind capable of exploring and experimenting in music. As his former fiance and lover Countess Sayn-Wittgenstein said of him, "'Liszt has thrown his spear further into the future than Wagner." The influence of Liszt in music history is only now being known.

Music Downloads Are Easy To Get Into With Good Information
One of the universal forms of entertainment is music. Today, people have many different ways to access the tunes they love. Ever growing in popularity is downloading music from the Internet. If you are uncertain how to do this, continue reading for some fabulous suggestions on how to get your favorite tunes today.
A good tip to consider if you're looking to download music is to look on iTunes. iTunes has a lot of popular music and it's very easy to just download a track and transfer it to your iPhone or iPod. You can usually get good deals when buying music on iTunes.
Check out the legal free music from established music download sites. Many big online music retailers like iTunes, MP3.com, Amazon.com, and more have free music sections. You can legally download these free tracks from some artists that you like or some new ones that you would like to listen to for the first time.
If you want to try out some more obscure artists, keep your eyes peeled for free music available from them. Even the most popular sites, like Amazon and iTunes, offer free downloads from time to time. This is great way to build your music library without spending money on tunes you may or may not like.
If you are looking for new music to download, consider visiting websites that provide music from up and coming artists. These music sites offer song tracks plus reviews from listeners who have listened to them through streaming. This is a good way to add good music to your collection that is not in the mainstream yet.
Don't try to download music from a place where you can't trust where it's coming from. For instance, you shouldn't use pirating software to get your music. This is because you could end up downloading a virus or spyware. It's also against the law to do this, so only get downloads from trusted sources.
Make sure that your MP3 player is completely compatible with the music you are downloading. Different sites offer downloads in different formats, and if the site you are turning to for your music offers a different format than your MP3 player uses, it could cause you problems. To avoid costly and time consuming issues, check before you download.
If you tend to spend a lot on music, you may find a subscription service to be a much more affordable route in the long run. These services typically cost no more than $10 a month, and they open up a world of music. In fact some have near 20 million different songs that you can listen to and download.
Peer to peer software may seem like a great way to get free music, but the fact is that it opens you up to viruses, malware and more. To keep your computer free from these problems, stick to downloading through iTunes or from online retailers like Amazon.com or HMV.com.
Pay attention to music formats. Music files come in many different formats. Some of these formats are specific to certain music players or music playing devices. Don't download music you can't use. What are you going to use to listen to the music you're downloading? Determine the type of file you will need.
Make sure any sites you are downloading music from contain adware, virus and spyware protection. Any reputable site will offer all three. Remember that downloading things from the Internet can be dangerous, compromising your privacy and your expensive computer. To keep yourself safe, never download anything if these three things are not present.
You need not be intimidated by music downloads. It is simply a new and exciting way to get access to great music. Try these suggestions out and you will discover that you can have a fabulous collection of tunes right at your fingertips. Then, you will be ready to jam out!
Hi there! and I'm a music lover, over the 40's. Lately I've discovered the Eritrean Music African music, which I think is very unknown in the US and Europe. It has been very pleasant for me, and would like to share it with others. I hope you enjoy it too.
Sound of Music: Vibrant, Energetic and Strong!
Since time immemorial, music has been given a special place in the lives of people. Who can forget Shakespeare's famous song in Twelfth Night, "If music be the food for love, play on" where music is compared to food, one of the basic necessities of life. It is said even to have therapeutic effects on people, and even can revitalize any one after a hectic day of work.
Music can be of different kinds - Western Classical Music, hip hop, Latin music, Hindustani Classical music, Carnatic music and so on and so forth. Every person has a separate taste for music. Well, on one hand, this informs us about the variety of music, but on the other, it also informs us about the unique taste of music that everyone has. This precisely means one should not really listen to music loudly in front of others. But then, should one stop listening to music in public then? Well, that is actually no solution at all. But not to worry, for all those music lovers out there, specialized headphones have been created which would allow you to listen to the coolest music at the super booming sound without causing trouble to any single person.
If you are looking for a good headphone which would have a nice impact as well, without much thought, invest in strong headphone coming from a reputed brand. The headphones from reputed brands have a hi-fi prowess with epic sound quality. When any form of music is heard on a low tone or super high tone, clarity is what matters the most, to any music lover. These headphones provide you with just that. Many a times it is noted that in spite of having headphones on, the person seated next to you in a bus or in any public transport, can perfectly hear what you're listening to. Now, that is a breach of privacy. No one really likes one prying over his / her own matters. On the other hand, no one really wants to listen to anything that he or she does not want to. A good headphone can come to the rescue regarding this aspect. With these headphones on, you can be pretty sure that your privacy is being enjoyed just and only by you.
Almost all good headphones come with one year premium replacement guarantee, so in case of any technical glitches, do not worry at all, one call, and your headphone set will be replaced by another brand new one! What a relief, isn't it? By using quality headphones, you can watch or listen to whatever you feel like without disturbing your parents or your siblings at all. And, the best deal is that you don't have to go and look around at the stores for headphones coming from reputed companies as they are widely available at the online shopping sites. You just have to choose a brand and model that suits your budget.
This article talks about the need of using marshall headphones which is a reputed brand rather one coming from a less known company. Marshall headphones pitch black is available in the market. So spend money once and buy high quality headphones.

Acoustic Piano or Electric Keyboard: Which Should You Buy?
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced musician, there are some important things to consider before investing in an instrument. If you are having a hard time deciding between an acoustic piano or its electric counterpart, these are factors you should keep in mind in order to help you choose what's best:
1. Your preferred music genre.
An acoustic piano can be perfect if you are planning to focus on traditional genres. Ballad, blues, classical, and jazz are some common examples that come to mind. The instrument unmistakably fits these styles with its distinct feel and sound. However, a digital piano allows you the flexibility of dabbling with modern music such as rock, new wave, and electronica. Besides, keyboards come equipped with a lot of effects and sounds, which means greater musical versatility for the user. Recording songs will be less complicated too since many keyboards can be connected directly to a computer.
2. Your living conditions.
Next, you have to determine what instrument is most ideal for your place. Does your home have enough space for a piano or is it more realistic to get a keyboard?
In some instances, you may need to ask permission from your landlord if you are purchasing a piano. Many apartments prohibit noise of any kind and so a keyboard may be most appropriate in these circumstances. Digital pianos have headphone jacks that allow you to play and practice without disturbing others.
3. Static or portable?
Also, you have to consider whether you have plans of moving soon or not. An acoustic piano will be perfect if you are staying permanently (or for a long period of time) in a given place. Otherwise, a keyboard is recommended since it is more convenient to carry whenever you have to leave elsewhere. Its portability also makes it easier for you to bring it for live performances whenever necessary.
4. The money in your pocket.
Ultimately, the decision you make depends on your actual purchasing power. If you can afford to shell out a big amount of money, then a piano can be a great choice. Repairs and tuning expenses should also be included in your computations since pianos usually require tuning at least two times a year.
Quite obviously, keyboards are generally more affordable and they require lesser maintenance. It simply makes sense to pick this if you cannot afford to spend big bucks for an instrument.

Whether you get an acoustic or a digital piano, working with a piano teacher Melbourne at MSOM is a good idea.
What You Don't Know About the Band Members Of You Me At Six
You Me at Six Band was formed in 2004 and originally consisted of Joshua James Alphonse Franceschi, Max Michael Helyer, Christopher James Miller, Matthew James Barnes and Joe Philips. In 2006, Phillips was replaced with Daniel David Flint and the band has been progressing since then.
Joshua Franceschi is the lead vocal of the band and he has many nicknames like Vibe, Joshzilla, Fransexy, J-Money and J-Monster. He was born on August 7, 1990 in Weybridge, Surrey to Christian and Anne Franceschi. His father is a Corsican-French man while his mother is a Scottish woman. He lived in Cyprus in his early childhood but later moved to live with his grandmother in Twickenham. When he became 9 years old, he returned to Weybridge where he attended Heathside School until he was 16. Thereafter, he joined Esher College where he studied A-levels in Politics, History and Film Studies. He is a prominent member of the band and owns a clothing line named Down But Not Out.
Max Helyer is another important member of the You Me at Six Band. He was born on March 6, 1990 in Thorpe and he plays the rhythm guitar for the group. Some of his nicknames are Hellyeah, Maximus, Maxgina and Pineapple Boy. A remarkable event in his life was when he was pulled up on stage by Billie Joe of Green Day at a London show and sprayed the crowd when he was just 15. He also owns a clothing line named Antique.
Christopher Miller is the lead guitarist of the band. He was born on November 26, 1989 in Walton-on-Thames and his nicknames are Chewbear and The Dude. He is quiet and shy but when he begins to talk, girls say he looks really cute. He goes around with shiny long hair which makes him to stand out in the group.
Matthew Barnes plays the bass for the group and he is also known as Slinky and KFC. He was born on March 20, 1989 in Hersham. He is not black but his favorite place in the world is KFC. No one really knows his race and he has decided to make it a mystery. He was a vegetarian until he ate a kebab one night, perhaps when he was drunk. He also has a clothing line and he decided to name it Cheer Up! Clothing.
Daniel Flint is the band's drummer and he replaced Joe Phillips in 2006 in a circumstance that generated a lot of controversy. He was born on March 31, 1989 in Ashford and his nicknames are Flinttown and Snapback Princess. He likes to watch girly programs and perhaps that is why he earned for himself the nickname, Snapback Princess but he is definitely not gay.
You Me at Six Band is waxing stronger and is ranked 3,421 in the overall band rankings with a total score of 121. This is connected with the hardwork of each member of the group in their determination to satisfy their fans at all times.
If you like emo, punk rock or post hardcore you will like the new Irish-Canadian rock band called Remedyjack. I've recently discovered a link where the band are giving away their latest EP for free. Click here for more info. http://www.remedyjack.com

Even though there were mixed reviews, it was a commercial success and debuted at number 5 on the UK album Chart. It was also certified Gold in the UK for 100,000 shipment copies. There are only two albums by the band that appear in the greatest album charts and Hold Me Down is ranked as the best. The album contains 12 tracks as listed below;
1. The Consequence
2. Underdog
3. Playing the Blame Game
4. Stay With Me
5. Safer to Hate Her
6. Take Your Breath Away
7. Liquid Confidence
8. Hard to Swallow
9. Contagious Chemistry
10. There's No Such Thing As Accidental Infidelity
11. Trophy Eyes
12. Fireworks
According to Josh Franceschi the recording of the album took about 7 weeks which was far more than the time it took them to record their first album, Take Off Your Colours, which only took 2 weeks. Matt O'Grady produced it and he was also the studio engineer while David Bendeth mixed it. Josh also revealed that they spent a lot of time writing the songs and that perhaps contributed to its success. He also hinted that the break up with his girlfriend had a great influence on the work and they had the opportunity to reveal their minds about the music industry.
Some of the tracks featured guest artistes like Aled Phillips of Kids in Glass Houses and Sean Smith of The Blackout who was featured on the first single, The Consequence. This first single was available for free download on their official website before the whole album was released, accompanied with a music video.
The album was reviewed by Tim Newbound in the January of 2010 edition of British magazine, Rock Sound. His review was favorable as he awarded a score of 8 out of 10. He compared it with New Found Glory's 2000 self-titled album as one with a sense of youthful exuberance. Also, it was given an excellent four K rating by Kerrang! Magazine while Joe Barton of the Skinny only awarded two stars out of five. Furthermore, Simon Price of The Independent was also not favorable in his comment. He was particularly critical of the long song titles and the band name which he referred to as "action-packed".
Moreover, Ben Brady of the In the News awarded a score of 8 out of 10 and commented that the band was improving. Niki Boyle of Scottish newspaper, The list, gave a score of 3 out 5 and praised the inclusion of guest artistes from The Blackout and Kids in Glass Houses.
If you like emo, punk rock or post hardcore you will like the new Irish-Canadian rock band called Remedyjack. I've recently discovered a link where the band are giving away their latest EP for free. Click here for more info. http://www.remedyjack.com
