Even though there were mixed reviews, it was a commercial success and debuted at number 5 on the UK album Chart. It was also certified Gold in the UK for 100,000 shipment copies. There are only two albums by the band that appear in the greatest album charts and Hold Me Down is ranked as the best. The album contains 12 tracks as listed below;

According to Josh Franceschi the recording of the album took about 7 weeks which was far more than the time it took them to record their first album, Take Off Your Colours, which only took 2 weeks. Matt O'Grady produced it and he was also the studio engineer while David Bendeth mixed it. Josh also revealed that they spent a lot of time writing the songs and that perhaps contributed to its success. He also hinted that the break up with his girlfriend had a great influence on the work and they had the opportunity to reveal their minds about the music industry.
Some of the tracks featured guest artistes like Aled Phillips of Kids in Glass Houses and Sean Smith of The Blackout who was featured on the first single, The Consequence. This first single was available for free download on their official website before the whole album was released, accompanied with a music video.
The album was reviewed by Tim Newbound in the January of 2010 edition of British magazine, Rock Sound. His review was favorable as he awarded a score of 8 out of 10. He compared it with New Found Glory's 2000 self-titled album as one with a sense of youthful exuberance. Also, it was given an excellent four K rating by Kerrang! Magazine while Joe Barton of the Skinny only awarded two stars out of five. Furthermore, Simon Price of The Independent was also not favorable in his comment. He was particularly critical of the long song titles and the band name which he referred to as "action-packed".
Moreover, Ben Brady of the In the News awarded a score of 8 out of 10 and commented that the band was improving. Niki Boyle of Scottish newspaper, The list, gave a score of 3 out 5 and praised the inclusion of guest artistes from The Blackout and Kids in Glass Houses.
If you like emo, punk rock or post hardcore you will like the new Irish-Canadian rock band called Remedyjack. I've recently discovered a link where the band are giving away their latest EP for free. Click here for more info. http://www.remedyjack.com
